MDSO: Driver arrested after striking deputy’s vehicle in southwest Miami-Dade

A driver was arrested early Friday morning after striking a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputy’s unmarked vehicle in southwest Miami-Dade and then fleeing the scene, authorities said.

According to MDSO, the incident occurred just after 2:20 a.m. in the area of Krome Avenue and Southwest 184th Street.

Deputies said after fleeing the scene, the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a second car.

The suspect was then taken into custody without further incident, authorities said.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect’s identity has not yet been released.
