Melbourne police seek information into fatal crash

Police are investigating a fatal crash from over the weekend in Melbourne and are looking for the public’s help.

The crash happened Saturday afternoon in the area of Strawbridge Avenue and Pine Street, east of Babcock Street.

Police say a gray Dodge Charger speeding on Strawbridge Avenue struck a concrete pole and a metal chain link fence, finally stopping next to a retention pond. The driver inside the vehicle was found dead.

The driver was identified as 37-year-old Christa M. Ryder of Palm Bay.
