A 53-year-old man faced charges over a hit-and-run crash and possession of a stolen gun in Miami-Dade County, records show.
On Monday, corrections held AT, who was born in Mexico and lived in southern Miami-Dade, at the Metrowest Detention Center on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold.
A deputy reported T failed to stop at a stop sign after he was involved in a hit-and-run crash on Nov. 27 at Southwest 344 Street and 212 Avenue, according to an arrest report in the case.
The deputy reported seeing a stolen firearm on the passenger seat that T said he used “at work in a nursery to scare away the animals,” according to the arrest report in the case.
T faced charges of grand theft of a firearm, driving without a valid driver’s license, and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage.
