A Miami-Dade man is facing multiple charges after authorities said he attacked another man and threw a garden stone through a car window, striking him in the face, during a confrontation in the Kendall West area earlier this month.
Jail records show FDM-E, 23, was arrested Tuesday and charged with aggravated battery, battery, and shooting or throwing a deadly missile.
According to an arrest report report from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the incident began around 5 a.m. on June 14, when M-E was being driven home by the victim and a witness.
During the ride, deputies said M-E allegedly began grabbing the male driver’s face and “demanded a kiss.”
They said the victim repeatedly refused by pushing M’s hands away and turning his head.
Once they arrived at M-E’s residence near Southwest 48th Terrace, the victim exited the vehicle to encourage the suspect to do the same, according to the report.
Investigators say M-E then approached him, “invaded his personal space,” and again attempted to kiss him.
When the victim resisted, deputies said M-E allegedly grabbed him by the throat and began choking him.
The victim, trying to defend himself, grabbed M-E and told him to stop, the report stated.
Deputies say M-E then bit the victim’s right hand, breaking the skin on both the top and palm. The struggle eventually ended, and the two separated, according to the report.
As the victim got back into his car and closed the door, authorities said M-E began yelling at him to leave and threatened to throw a rock.
Moments later, he allegedly grabbed a garden stone and hurled it through the driver’s side window, striking the victim in the face and leaving him with bruising and abrasions, according to deputies.
Authorities said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue treated the victim at the scene, where they later recovered the stone inside the vehicle and photographed it for evidence.
Deputies say M-E was identified through a photograph provided by the victim and confirmed through a state database.
Detectives said they located him near Southwest 88th Street, took him into custody and transported him to the MDSO’s Hammocks station.
After being read his Miranda rights, authorities said M-E agreed to speak with detectives and made a confession that was redacted in the publicly released report.
As of Wednesday, the Cuban national is being held on an immigration hold at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where his bond is listed as “to be set.”
