Sheriff’s deputies arrested a northwest Miami-Dade woman on Friday after accusing her of assaulting and robbing her 75-year-old neighbor as the senior tried to do a home improvement project earlier in the week.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened on Dec. 15 in the 7900 block of Northwest 188th Terrace, near the Palm Springs North and Country Club areas.
An arrest report states that the victim “was attempting to mount a hose on the wall of her property” when CM, 33, came up to her and a “verbal dispute ensued.”
“The victim advised that (as) she was holding the garden hose mount, a struggle ensued and (M) forcefully took control of the mount,” the report states. “The victim advised that during the struggle, she injured her elbow. (Marrero) then placed the mount on the victim’s driveway.”
Authorities said the victim took the mount and walked toward her wall and a second struggle ensued, but the senior was able to successfully keep the mount.
Deputies went to M’s home Friday to arrest her on charges of strong-armed robbery, attempted strong-armed robbery and battery on a person 65 or older.
Court records show M was released on a $12,500 bond.
