MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — A house fire in Miami Gardens spread to a nearby home early Friday morning, prompting a large response from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
Authorities said crews responded at 6:39 a.m. to a single-family home in the 20400 block of Northwest 29th Place, where they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the home.
They said firefighters began a “fast fire attack,” but the flames extended to an adjacent house, leading officials to upgrade the incident to a second alarm and call in additional units.
MDFR officials said more than 18 of their units responded to the scene.
They said the fire was brought under control, with crews remaining at the scene to ventilate both homes and check for hot spots.
Three people at the scene were evaluated for injuries but declined medical transport, according to MDFR.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
