Miami Gardens man rushed to hospital after being electrocuted outside his home

 A South Florida man was hospitalized after being electrocuted on Saturday morning.

It happened along the 500 block of Northwest 189th Terrace in Miami Gardens.

According to officials, the victim was trying to collect fruit hanging from trees when was shocked by a power line.

First responders rushed the man via helicopter as a trauma alert to a nearby hospital.

Neighbors told Local 10 News the man has lived in his home for decades, and that has a wife and two children that with him there.

“Those people are great,” said neighbor Veste Louis. “I’ve been there for 20 years, they been there before me and we never had any issues with anything. We come and help each other.”

There has been no update from officials on the victim’s health status.
