A Miami Gardens woman is facing an attempted murder charge after police said she stabbed her husband after her 49th birthday party on June 29. He then shot her four times, they said.
Miami Gardens police arrested CDGon an attempted murder charge on Thursday.
According to an arrest report, G’s husband told investigators that “everything was good” after the party at their home in the 16000 block of Northwest 28th Place.
But it states that just after 11:30 p.m., he told police that after he walked into their bedroom following a conversation with his cousin, G said “b—-” and began stabbing him in the neck.
According to the report, G’s husband said he “fell to his knees” and grabbed a gun he knew that she kept under the mattress.
“He said he grabbed the gun, stood up, and as he stumbled backwards into the living room, he shot toward the bedroom since (G) was now in the bedroom,” the report states. “He said he shot once, (she) closed the door (and) reopened the door as he shot again.”
According to the report, G then exclaimed, “You shot me!”
Police said her husband ran outside to get help and called 911.
Authorities said both G and her husband were left critically wounded and airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. Police said the man sustained a “large stab wound just behind his right ear” and that “major arteries were missed by millimeters.”
Meanwhile, police said he shot Gonce each in her thigh and abdomen and twice in her “genital area.”
“The two that struck her genital area were entry and exit wounds,” police wrote.
During an interview Thursday at the Miami Gardens Police Department, G told investigators that she and her husband had had a fight outside and were separated by his cousin, alleging that her husband hit her in the face and she ran inside, police said.
“She alleged (her husband) grabbed his gun from under the mattress near the foot of the bed and shot her,” the report states. “She also claims not to remember much of what happened after being shot, but she believes she ran outside and called 911. She was located inside the home, lying on the living room floor, by the police.”
As of Friday morning, G was being held without bond in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
