A motorman with the Miami Police Department was rushed to the hospital after being struck in a possible hit-and-run on Thursday night, authorities confirmed.
According to Miami police, the incident occurred at approximately 11:08 p.m. Feb. 12 near Interstate 95 and Interstate 195/State Road 112.
They said the officer, who has not been identified at this time, was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center alert and conscious.
Traffic cameras along State Road 112 captured multiple police units rushing to the scene just after 11 p.m., with cruisers speeding down the interstate.
Miami police officials said the investigation is ongoing, and they are searching for the suspect who fled the scene.
