Minivan found crashed, abandoned in Hillsborough County creek: Florida Highway Patrol

A driver is believed to have crashed a minivan into a creek in Hillsborough County on Wednesday before running away and abandoning it.

The driver lost control while speeding in the Kia Sedona at 1:25 a.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The minivan struck a guardrail and overturned into a creek, where it was later found abandoned. FHP said the vehicle was unregistered and had an unassigned license plate.

The driver left the site of the crash. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office searched the water as a precaution.

Anyone with information about the crash and the identity of the driver is asked to call **FHP (347) or Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.
