A minor was flown to the hospital after he was shot early Friday in Southwest Miami-Dade, according to the sheriff’s office.
It happened at around 3:46 a.m. in a residential area near Southwest 140th Place and Southwest 280th Street in the Leisure City neighborhood.
Authorities said they received a call about a person yelling, and when deputies arrived, they found the victim “‘lying on the ground with apparent gunshot(s) wounds.”
The minor was flown to the hospital in critical condition.
No information about a possible suspect was immediately available.
Some neighbors told NBC6 that they heard gunfire.
Streets were closed, and several deputies could be seen working the investigation.
