Akira Anderson, 34, was found dead by the train tracks near W. Atlantic Avenue and Congress Avenue, according to the Delray Beach Police Department.

Police say it appears she was struck by a train. The Medical Examiner is working to determine the cause of death.

CBS12 previously reported, Anderson was last seen on March 14 at 328 11th Avenue in Delray Beach. Her friends had told police they were worried about her safety and that she was supposed to be heading to a friend’s home in Belle Glade, but she never arrived.

Police said Anderson normally traveled by train or bus.
