A Mascotte woman was arrested for battery after allegedly attacking the girlfriend of man she had been seeing.
An officer responded to a disturbance involving 51-year-old SLP-G at a residence on Milray Drive at 7:35 p.m. Friday, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. Dispatchers advised that she bit, pushed and pulled the hair of the girlfriend dating the man she was seeing.
Upon arrival, the officer met P-G standing in the driveway of the residence with her juvenile son. She smelled strongly of alcohol, slurred her speech and was unsteady on her feet. He later found an open container of alcohol in the front cupholder of her vehicle, the report said.
She advised that she drove from her home in Mascotte to the girlfriend’s residence to get some money back from the boyfriend. She had given it to him to pay for bills, but when she found out he was already in a relationship, she drove all the way to get it back, the report said.
P-G pulled up to the residence to see the couple outside. She got out of her vehicle only to be attacked by the girlfriend, from which she sustained a red mark on her right knee, the report said.
However, the girlfriend gave a different story that began when P-G sent her a message over Facebook around 5:20 p.m. At one point, she wrote that she was on the way to the girlfriend’s house so the boyfriend could tell them if he wanted P-G in his life. The girlfriend told her multiple times not to come, yet she later pulled up intoxicated with her child, the report said.
They started arguing, and the girlfriend told her to leave. She instead “ran up” on the girlfriend and pushed her. The girlfriend defended herself and pushed her back, only to be bitten, have her hair pulled and hit, the report said.
The girlfriend was left with a bite mark with distinct teeth impression and dried blood on her right upper arm. There were lacerations on her right elbow and right knee, and she had what seemed to be more dried blood on her upper and lower lips, the report said.
The boyfriend witnessed the altercation and was asked about it, as well. He confirmed he was dating the girlfriend, stating his relationship with P-G was for financial benefit, the report said.
As for the incident, he corroborated the girlfriend’s account and gave the officer a video of what happened. In the recording, the girlfriend told P-G to get back in her car. She responded by yelling expletives at the couple, the report said.
She then moved her hand toward the phone, which panned away, before she walked toward them. Her son pulled on her arm, cried and asked her to get back in the car. He proceeded to stand between her and the couple, using his body to block her from going toward them, the report said.
P-G ultimately pushed past him, and the video panned away again. When it returned to where the two women had been standing, P-G was on the ground with the girlfriend standing over her holding her hands down against her body. The girlfriend said something about her hair being pulled out, with the report noting where it had once been tied up, it was now disheveled with the clip falling out.
The girlfriend told P-G to get off her property once more before letting go of her hands and moving away. P-G struck her in the face at that point, and she continued to swing her arms in her direction, the report said.
Her son told the couple to let her get up, and she would get off the property, the report said. So, they stepped away from P-G as she stood up from the ground. She again walked toward the couple until her son stood between them and tried pushing her back toward their vehicle. She put her hand on his forehead, then pulled his hair to the point his head tilted back. He could be heard saying, “Ow.”
Her son repeatedly asked her to get in the car and continued using both arms to hold her back. P-G simply refused to leave in favor of arguing about the couple giving her money back, the report said.
Additionally, a criminal history check later revealed she had one prior domestic battery conviction from Dec. 8, 1999, in Lake County, the report said.
P-G was arrested on charge of battery (second or subsequent offense) and transported to the Sumter County Detention Center. She was released after posting $1,000 bond.
