Mother left with brain bleed, broken skull after Odessa hit-and-run crash

Mother left with brain bleed, broken skull after Odessa hit-and-run crash

The Florida Highway Patrol is searching for a driver that severely injured a woman riding her bicycle Saturday night in Pasco County.

Suzen Leslie Roselip, 64, was hit around 8:30 p.m. along SR-54 and Black Lake Road in Odessa.

“I would say, you have a mom. This is our mom. Please just do the right thing… Even if it was an accident,” said Brittany Canales, Roselip’s daughter.

Roselip has multiple brain bleeds, a cracked skull, broken ribs, facial bones, and needs emergency surgery. She is currently in the intensive care unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa.

According to family members, a passerby who did not witness the crash called 911. At this time, there have been no arrests.

“What if no one was there? The one witness who happened to see her lying there. That’s the sad part, is that you’re sad for your mom lying on the ground, not knowing what’s going to happen,” Canales said.

Anyone who has any information related to the hit-and-run crash is encouraged to contact the Florida Highway Patrol.
