A D said she was waiting for the bus to pick up her kids at Rosemary Drive and Streetsboro Lane in Bonita Springs when she saw a car hit her son and take off.
“The emotions were like, oh my God, I can’t believe this happened. Like my kids, one just witnessed his older brother getting hit, my oldest just got hit like, oh my goodness, just processing that, I was very emotional, very distraught,” said D.
D said Tuesday morning started like any other school day. She said when her kids went to cross the street, they looked both ways but didn’t see a car coming.
“Crossing the road, and a driver turning left onto the street. She hit my oldest head-on. The front of the bumper got him, and he rolled on top of the car, and then he fell to the side,” described D.
D said as 11-year-old Raul was hit, her 8-year-old son N was just inches away.
N is now out of the hospital but can’t play baseball for at least a month.
“Right now, he’s dealing with an AC fracture on his shoulder. The ligament is fractured, so it twisted when he rolled on top of the car,” said D.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said it is investigating this crash.
