Motorcycle accident leaves one person dead

A motorcyclist was killed in the early hours of Monday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said the motorcyclist, a 50-year-old Mary Esther man, was riding on Highway 98 near Brookwood Boulevard around 3:30 a.m. They said a truck, being driven by a 60-year-old Pensacola man, was driving along near the motorcycle.

Troopers said the front of the truck hit the back of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by the Florosa Fire Department.
