A deadly crash involving multiple vehicles resulted in the temporary closure of U.S. Highway 41.
Levy County Sheriff’s deputies say two cars and a motorcycle collided on US 41 at the intersection of County Road 464 near Morriston around 5:45 a.m.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers say an SUV driver headed north on US 41 attempted to pass a pickup truck by traveling in the southbound lane.
The driver crashed head-on into a motorcycle headed south. Debris from the wreck also collided with the pickup.
The 57-year-old man from Morriston riding the motorcycle was killed. The SUV driver, a man from Ocala, was seriously injured.
The pickup driver suffered minor injuries.
