A motorcyclist was critically injured Sunday evening after losing control and crashing in Southwest Miami-Dade, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred around 5:50 p.m. near Southwest 88th Street and 138th Avenue. An on-duty MDSO deputy saw the motorcycle traveling westbound on SW 88th Street at high speeds shortly before the rider lost control, investigators said.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported the motorcyclist to HCA Kendall Hospital, where the rider remained in critical condition.
Authorities said the crash involved only the motorcycle. No deputies were involved.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation.
