A motorcyclist in his early 20s was killed in a crash Wednesday night on Jacksonville’s Southside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
JSO said the crash happened around 10:20 p.m. at the intersection of Town Center Parkway and Tropea Way.
According to officials, the man was riding a Honda motorcycle westbound on Town Center Parkway, and a woman in her early 20s was driving an Audi eastbound.
Police said the woman made a left turn to go onto Tropea Way when the motorcycle struck the front passenger’s side fender of the car in the intersection.
The man was thrown from his motorcycle, JSO said.
Jacksonville Fire Rescue transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital, where he died shortly after he arrived.
The driver of the Audi remained at the scene and is cooperating with detectives conducting the traffic crash investigation.
This is the 133rd traffic fatality in Duval County this year, and the 35th involving a motorcycle, according to JSO.
