Motorcyclist dies at hospital after crash in Leesburg.

A motorcyclist died at a local hospital after a crash in Leesburg.

A 56-year-old Umatilla man was riding the 2002 Kawasaki motorcycle at 11:51 a.m. Tuesday westbound on County Road 452 approaching Sandpiper Drive in Leesburg, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

A 91-year-old Apopka man in a 2013 Hyundai Sonata was eastbound on County Road 452 and made a left turn in front of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist could not stop in time and a collision occurred.

The 91-year-old driver, as well as a 76-year-old female passenger from Apopka, were  not injured and remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators.

The motorcyclist was transported to AdventHealth Waterman and pronounced dead due to injuries suffered in the crash.

This crash remains under investigation.
