Motorcyclist dies in crash on SR-39, troopers say

A motorcyclist is dead after a crash on State Road 39 Wednesday night, the Florida Highway Patrol announced.

A Ford Explorer, driven by a 21-year-old Dover woman was traveling northbound on SR-39 around 8:35 p.m.

The woman turned left at the intersection of Charlie Griffin Road and into the path of a 55-year-old Lutz man who was traveling southbound on a Honda motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle died at the scene of the crash, FHP said.

The 21-year-old woman was not injured during the crash.
