Motorcyclist in critical condition after Charlotte County crash

A Port Charlotte man is in critical condition after being hit by a sedan along US-41 on Thursday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, around 7:40 p.m., a 66-year-old man was driving a sedan north in the left turn lane of US-41 near Main Street.

A 39-year-old man riding a motorcycle was heading south.

FHP states the front of the sedan failed to yield and turned in front of the motorcycle.

The front of the motorcycle crashed into the front right of the sedan.

The report states the man was separated from the motorcycle and sustained critical injuries.

He was taken to a local hospital.

FHP states this crash remains under investigation.
