A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a vehicle crash in DeSoto County, the Florida Highway Patrol says.
FHP says that the crash involved a pickup truck and a motorcyclist, and that the motorcyclist was seriously injured and transported to the hospital.
According to FHP, the motorcycle was traveling north on Southeast Airport Road, approaching SE Airport Estates Street.
An unknown pickup truck was traveling west on SE Airport Estates Street and made a left turn at a stop sign directly in front of the approaching motorcycle, FHP said.
The front end of the truck crashed into the motorcycle, and the truck fled the scene, according to FHP.
The unknown pickup truck is possibly a 2009 to 2014 Ford F150, black in color, FHP said. Troopers are still looking for the pickup truck, and the crash remains under investigation.
