A motorcyclist is dead following a crash in Orange County early Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash occurred shortly before 1:30 a.m. on State Road 408, west of East Colonial Drive.

Authorities said the 45-year-old man from Groveland was riding a 2021 Harley-Davidson Road Glide westbound on SR-408 when, for reasons still unknown, he veered off the road and struck a guardrail.

He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation.
