Motorcyclist killed, truck driver seriously hurt in Brevard County crash, FHP says

A motorcyclist died, and a pickup truck driver suffered serious injuries following a crash on Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened on U.S. Highway 1 near Daytona Boulevard.

Investigators said the 2024 Nissan Frontier was traveling north when the driver attempted a left turn onto Daytona Boulevard, moving into the path of the southbound 2023 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Several witnesses reported the motorcycle was traveling above the posted speed limit at the time of the collision, FHP said.

FHP said the impact caused the Nissan to overturn.

The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Nissan was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center with serious injuries, according to the report.

The crash remains under investigation.
