Motorcyclist seriously injured after crashing into back of car on US-41 in Charlotte County

A motorcyclist was seriously injured after crashing into the back of a car on US-41 in Charlotte County on Tuesday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at around 9:30 p.m., a 29-year-old man was riding a motorcycle south on US-41, north of the intersection with Dahlgreen Avenue. A Toyota Camry, driven by a 32-year-old man, turned right from Dahlgreen Avenue and began traveling south on US-41, south of the intersection with Dahlgreen Avenue.

The motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed, FHP said, and crashed into the back of the Toyota Camry. The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and sustained serious injuries. He was transported to a local hospital.

The driver of the Toyota Camry was uninjured. The crash remains under investigation.
