Emergency responders shut down several southbound lanes on U.S. Highway 441 in Fruitland Park on Saturday morning after a multi-vehicle accident left at least one person injured.

The crash, which occurred before 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Mar. 7, took place just north of the roadway’s intersection with North Dixie Avenue.

Lake County Fire Rescue and the Fruitland Park Police Department were on-site as of 11 a.m. At least two vehicles, an SUV and a sedan, were involved.

Additionally, at least one individual was transported from the scene by ambulance.

Southbound lanes were partially blocked as crews work to clear the wreckage and conduct an investigation into the cause of the accident.
