A multi-vehicle crash has completely shut down southbound lanes of I-75 in North Port, according to the North Port Police Department.

Police announced the closure in a Facebook post, warning drivers that southbound traffic is blocked near mile marker 176 by the Toledo Blade Boulevard exit.

North Port Fire Rescue and police crews are currently on the scene working to clear the wreckage, though officials cautioned that the roadway will take some time to reopen.
