‘My baby was full of blood and so was I’: Mother recounts being shot outside North Miami store

A North Miami woman was holding her baby while inside a car parked outside of a discount store when she became an innocent bystander, she said.

She ended up shot in the head over the weekend amid a dispute between two other women. Police arrested the alleged shooter, 35-year-old Anna Ixchell Williams.

The victim is now speaking to Local 10 News about her ordeal, which happened in the parking lot of the Family Dollar at 280 NE 135th St. Sunday morning.

“It hit me in my head. In the side of my head,” she said. “I was in so much shock. I just was screaming and my baby was full of blood and so was I.”

Both the woman and her baby survived.

5 p.m. report:

Authorities said the incident stemmed from an argument between Williams and the other woman, who the victim had driven with to Family Dollar, inside of the store.

Police said Williams followed the other woman outside of the store and fired on the car the victim was sitting in with her baby daughter.

Instead of hitting her apparent intended target, the bullet hit the victim.

“I heard this loud ring in my ear, like I didn’t know, and then the glass shattered in my face and I got out of the car and started panicking,” she said. “I just felt like I was going to lose my life and so was my daughter.”

She’s set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for medical expenses.

Williams, charged with aggravated battery with a weapon causing bodily harm, shooting or throwing a deadly missile and two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, remained held without bond as of Friday.
