New information was revealed in a fatal crash that occurred in Lake Worth Beach that killed one.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, David Schaeffer, 75 was killed in a two car crash after his vehicle hit a pole and overturned on Hypoluxo Road and Winston Trails Blvd.
The next of kin has been notified, PBSO says.
According to the crash report, at around 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, an 18-year-old man was driving a 2010 Infinity G37 at a high rate of speed in the center lane on Hypoluxo Road approaching the intersection of Winston Trails Blvd.
Schaeffer, who was driving a 2022 Kia Sorento, was traveling eastbound on Hypoluxo Road preparing to turn left left on Winston Trails when the crash ensued.
At the point of collision, Schaeffer’s vehicle was redirected in a counter-clockwise rotation until the rear passenger corner of the Kia struck a concrete pole.
After striking the pole, the vehicle came to a final rest on its passenger side.
The 18-year-old’s infinity came to a final rest west of the intersection, the crash report states.
