North Fort Myers man accused of attacking pool contractor with baseball bat.

A North Fort Myers man is accused of hitting a pool contractor in the head with a baseball bat during an altercation on Tuesday morning.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, 36-year-old Richard “Anthony” Daniels was arrested outside his home in the Crane Landing neighborhood.

Detectives said Daniels got into an argument with a man who he hired to build his swimming pool, and asked the man to leave his house. According to an arrest report, the contractor said he was hired to be there and refused to leave.

Detectives said Daniels knocked a ball cap off the contractor’s head, which fell into the pool. Then, Daniels went inside his home, got a baseball bat and struck the contractor in the head.

The force of the bat left a big bump on the side of the man’s face and bruised his arm.

The contractor went to the hospital and said he is suffering from migraines.

Daniels faces a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. On Wednesday, he was released from jail on bond.

Daniels told NBC2 there is another side to this story, which he will share soon.
