A 59-year-old Ocala man was arrested on an aggravated assault charge after he allegedly pointed a large knife at his mother and threatened to kill her during an argument inside a local residence.
According to the arrest report, a Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to the incident location on Wednesday, October 9, in reference to a verbal disturbance. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the female victim who advised that her son, Harold Walter Troski, had threatened to harm her with a knife in the kitchen.
The victim stated that Troski was holding a “large kitchen knife” in his hand while arguing with her. At one point during the argument, the victim alleged that Troski extended his arm and pointed the knife in her direction while saying, “I’m going to kill you.”
At the time of the alleged threat, the victim advised that she was sitting in a chair, approximately 10 feet from where Troski was standing in the kitchen with the knife. She told the deputy that she was afraid that Troski was going to harm her during the incident, according to the report.
The victim showed the deputy the kitchen knife that Troski allegedly was holding during the incident. It was approximately 8 to 12 inches in length.
An elderly witness inside the home spoke with the deputy and corroborated the victim’s statement.
The deputy then made contact with Troski. During a “non-custodial interview,” Troski allegedly admitted to threatening the victim, though he claimed that the victim and witness “threatened him too.”
When the deputy inquired as to how Troski had felt threatened during the incident, he stated that the victim and witness are “old people,” and it’s “very difficult to deal with (them).” The deputy noted in the report that Troski “failed to articulate any legitimate reason for him feeling threatened.”
After being read his Miranda rights, Troski further stated that he was cutting vegetables in the kitchen when the argument with the victim occurred. Troski then allegedly admitted to making verbal threats to “kill somebody or whatever.”
The report stated that during the post-Miranda interview, Troski told the deputy that the victim and witness are “old” and “belong in a hole, not a house.”
Troski was arrested and transported to Marion County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond. He is being charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.
A court date has not been scheduled yet, according to jail records.
