Ocala man dies in hit-and-run on Maricamp Road

Late Wednesday night, a person reported a dead man within the right turn lane of County Road 464, just east of the intersection of Bahia Road.

According to Florida Highway Patrol troopers, the 66-year-old man from Ocala was walking within the westbound turn lane of County Road 464 when an unknown vehicle traveling west within the westbound turn lane struck him.

The unknown vehicle left the scene of the crash and failed to report the accident.
