Ocala man killed in steamroller accident in Lake County, FHP says

A 35-year-old Ocala man was killed in an incident involving a steamroller Monday just after 11:30 a.m. in Lake County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A construction streamroller was being operated on private property in the area of County Road 455 and Hancock Road, FHP said.

The operator became stuck underneath the steamroller after it overturned. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers said this happened when he attempted to traverse up an embankment.

The crash remains under investigation.
