Ocala police: Officials investigate vehicle, bicycle crash that left 1 person dead.

The Ocala Police Department is investigating a vehicle vs. bicycle crash that left one person dead on Sunday.

According to OPD, officers responded to the 3100 block of NW Blitchton Road near Sunbelt Rentals around 6:35 p.m. There, they located a bicyclist who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials said they expect westbound lanes from NW 27th Avenue to 32nd Avenue to be blocked for an extended period of time. OPD asked drivers to avoid the area and use an alternate route.

This crash remains under investigation.
