Okaloosa County K9 team locates domestic violence offender

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Holt man for domestic violence battery and other charges on Thursday.

According to a news release, 38-year-old David Johnson of Holt who lives in a vehicle at a campground at Wilderness Landing Road. The victim, who lives with Johnson, told OCSO deputies he grabbed her by the mouth during an argument Wednesday afternoon.

The victim also said he grabbed and shook her by the head, causing her teeth to cut her lip, officials wrote.

Not long after the incident, deputies said they spotted Johnson beside a car. When he saw law enforcement he ran into the woods and refused to surrender.

Officials said a K9 team was deployed and located Johnson.

Johnson is being charged with false imprisonment, domestic violence battery, resisting an officer, and more.
