One dead after car catches on fire on Interstate 10

A motorist is dead after a one-vehicle accident in Jackson County.

The crash happened on Interstate 10 around 3:30 Monday afternoon. The Florida Highway Patrol said the vehicle was traveling east on I-10 in the inside left lane.

The sedan then traveled off the paved portion of the roadway, the car struck the County Road 195 overpass and became fully engulfed, according to FHP.

The accident is still under investigation and the identity of the victim has not yet been released.
