One dead after vehicle collides with car hauler in Charlotte County

The Florida Highway Patrol says one person is dead after an SUV collided head-on with a car hauler on SR-31 in Charlotte County.

FHP troopers responded to the crash near Babcock Ranch on Wednesday at approximately 11:37 a.m.

According to FHP, an SUV was headed north on SR-31, south of Suzan Drive. At around 10:58 a.m., the SUV drove into the road’s southbound lane before crashing head-on with a car hauler.

The SUV driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by FHP.
