One killed, three injured after crash in Ocala National Forest

Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) troopers said a crash on County Road 314 killed one person and left three others seriously injured Saturday night.

Troopers said it happened around 7:30 p.m. near Northeast 170th Avenue.

Authorities say they believe the two vehicles collided when the victim driver, a 50-year-old woman from Pottstown, Penn., attempted to overtake another vehicle ahead by crossing the doubled yellow lines.

The second car was in the opposite lane traveling towards them when the cars collided.

The first car turned over and both cars ended up on the grassy side of the road.

There were three other passengers involved who all reported serious injuries.

Corporal W. Swartz is the lead homicide investigator on the case.
