One person is dead after being hit by a box truck on I-75 southbound near Colonial Boulevard early Thursday morning.
This happened just before 5 a.m. at mile marker 136. The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed the death.
The outside lane of I-75 southbound was shut down for several hours, while two other lanes remained open, according to FHP.
A tow truck was seen at the scene, and the box truck was towed.
FHP and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office were on scene.
