One person died in a house fire that sparked near South Alabama Avenue.
According to DeSoto County fire Chief Chad Jorgensen, gusting winds made it horrible for crews to put out the flames, nearly spreading to homes close by.
Jorgensen said all hands were trying to get into the home and made multiple attempts to gain entry.
NBC2 is working to find out what caused the fire.
