Orlando hotel employee dies after industrial dryer incident, Orange County Fire Rescue says


ORLANDO, Fla. —

A Hilton Orlando employee died Thursday night after getting trapped under a dryer, according to Orange County Fire Rescue.

The incident happened around 9 p.m. at the hotel on Destination Parkway, near International Drive and the Orange County Convention Center.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the employee, a man in his 30s, was found under an industrial-sized dryer. Firefighters pulled him from under the dryer, but he died at the scene.

The sheriff’s office is investigating the incident.

OSHA confirms it is also investigating.

“We are deeply saddened by the very unfortunate incident that occurred yesterday evening. We extend our heartfelt condolences to all those affected and remain committed to supporting them during this difficult time,” according to a Hilton Orlando spokesperson.
