Orlando man killed in crash with semitruck on East Colonial Drive at Sable Palm Drive

An Orlando man was killed early Monday in a crash with a semitruck in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at 6:10 a.m. on E. Colonial Drive at Sable Palm Drive.

According to troopers, a semitruck was traveling north on Sable Palm Drive when the driver, a 38-year-old Geneva man, attempted to turn left onto E. Colonial Drive in front of an oncoming Chevy Equinox.

The semitruck collided with the front of the Chevrolet, according to a crash report.

The Chevy driver, a 54-year-old Orlando man, was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, troopers said.

Eastbound lanes of E. Colonial Drive were blocked in the area but were reopened around 12:15 p.m.

An investigation is ongoing.
