A man is dead following a motorcycle crash in Orange County early Sunday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened shortly after 2:30 a.m. on Orange Avenue, north of Wetherbee Road in Orlando, troopers said.
Authorities said the 49-year-old Orlando man was riding his motorcycle above the posted speed limit when he lost control while going around a curve.
The rider ran off the road, struck a curb and was thrown from the motorcycle, according to FHP.
He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.
The crash remains under investigation.
