The Orlando Police Department is investigating a three-vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday morning at a busy intersection and involved an agency patrol vehicle.
Video from the scene shows an OPD sport utility vehicle with major front-end damage at the intersection of Lee Road and Orange Blossom Trail.
According to Orlando police, a marked patrol vehicle was involved in the crash; however, an officer was not driving at the time of the collision. The vehicle was being driven by a mechanic who was test-driving the car when the incident occurred.
Based on the investigation, police said the crash occurred when one of the other drivers ran a red light. It appears the mechanic was not at fault, according to police.
One driver was transported to a hospital for treatment.
An investigation is ongoing.
