A Winter Springs woman is out of jail on bond, charged with child abuse.
Oviedo police say videos show 58-year-old LM slapping a child at least 10 times and lifting him up by his face.
Last month, Oviedo police filed a report charging a daycare worker with child abuse involving an 18-month-old child.
M was arrested at her home on June 18, about a week after an investigation at the Oviedo Christian Academy.
SG picked up her 18-month-old son at the daycare and found him with scratches and abrasions on his face that broke the skin.
Initially, the report says, M went to stop him from biting another child and accidentally scratched his face.
Further investigation revealed two videos of the incident.
“M then begins to strike — in the mouth with her open right hand at least six times,” the arrest report says.
“The second video is like somebody hit my stomach because when she took him to the next room with his face like this, and over here, I remember exactly it was horrible,” SG said.
The report adds: “M then strikes — in the mouth at least four more times with an open hand.”
The child’s mother said, “I started crying and because I watching that, and I said, ‘How you dare do this to my son.'”
After that, and with the child still crying loudly, the report says the worker went to the front office.
The child’s parents contacted police.
WESH 2 attempted to speak with the owner and manager at the school, but no one came to the door.
“I was super sad, the first time angry, but thank God, I just calmed down and forgave this person,” the boy’s mother said.
