The Bay County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men after officers responded to a report of an altercation in Cedar Grove.
When deputies arrived, they found an adult male victim covered in blood with a large cut on his hand, officials said.
According to the victim, he had been at a residence in Cedar Grove when another man attacked him with a machete, striking him in the hand. He was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials said S B, 59, of Panama City was identified as the potential suspect, and detained.
Deputies matched the description of the suspect and said he appeared to have blood on his clothing. He then admitted to being in an altercation with the victim and was found to have methamphetamine.
A search warrant was conducted on the residence, with evidence supporting the victim’s account of the crime and witness statements.
Also arrested at the residence was R F, 30, of Panama City, who was also in possession of methamphetamine.
B was charged with Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Possession of Methamphetamine. Funderburk was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.
