A Panama City man is facing child sex charges.
Panama City Police said 41-year-old, Heman Mathis inappropriately touched a 13-year-old girl.
According to the Panama City Police Department, officers began investigating after the victim’s mother allegedly found multiple text messages between her daughter and Mathis.
The victim participated in a forensic interview at the Gulf Coast Children’s Advocacy Center.
Police said Mathis admitted to sending messages, but not the sexual ones listed in a report.
Mathis also admitted to holding the victim’s hand, but it was when they were crossing the street, police wrote.
Mathis was charged with one count of lewd and lascivious conduct.
