The Panama City Police Department are investigating a traffic fatality involving a bicyclist. The incident happened at about 10:45 Wednesday night near the corner of West 15th Street and Lisenby Avenue.
Officers on the scene say a man was riding his bike in the eastbound lane when he lost control of the bike. They believe he fell and hit his head, causing major injuries.
By the time police arrived on the scene, they say he was already dead. They are trying to find out what caused him to lose control of the bike, whether he hit a pothole or there was some other issue.
Authorities have not identified the victim. We’ll have more on the story as soon as it becomes available.
