An employee at Bayonet Point Hospital in Pasco County has been arrested and charged with sexual battery.
The Pasco Sheriff’s Office said employee AC, 30, entered the victim’s room and forced himself on the victim. Authorities did not clarify what C’s role at the hospital was.
C was arrested Wednesday evening, though the sheriff’s office did not say when the incident occurred. He is charged with felony sexual battery, indecent exposure and battery.
Bayonet Point released a statement confirming C was no longer employed at the hospital.
“We do not tolerate behavior that jeopardizes the safety and well-being of our patients. After learning of the alleged incident, we contacted law enforcement. We offer our support to the patient and family and are assisting law enforcement in their investigation. The individual is no longer an employee of the hospital,” they wrote.
PSO said the victim is safe and receiving the support they need. Authorities believe this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
There are no reports of additional victims at this time but contact the PSO Crime Tips Line at 1-800-706-2488 or report tips online at PascoSheriff.com/tips if you believe you or a loved one may be a victim.
